BEFORE AND AFTER

Toni decided she wanted to start landscaping. Well, she wanted her yard landscaped anyway. Not that she wanted to do the work. But, she did help, and the girls did too.I planed the layout, picked out most of the plants, dug ALL the holes and put down all the border rocks. She mudded in the plants and helped with the mulch. It turned out really beautiful. Not bad for my first landscape job!!!! Now if we could just get grass. The back yard has grass, but the front is still pretty bare. We have talked about putting down sod after we finish the walk ways. We'll see.

SNOW ANGEL'S .........DIRT ANGELS

Those of you in the North may call them snow Angel's, but in the South I think they are dirt Angel's.

Poor Cameron, we went plant shopping in the heat of the day. I think it was more than she could handle. She fell asleep on the way home. She was just to cute to not take a picture.

Almost supper!!!!!!!

Keith was brush hogging this weekend when he ran across a snake. At first he didn't see the baby cotton tail he was after. Being the good guy he is, he saved her. She rode in his shirt pocket for about 1 1/2 hours while he finished mowing. Between the snake and the rough ride I think she was in shock. She would not eat very good for the first three days, I really didn't think she was going to make, but all is well. She eats like a little pig now. The girls named her Miss Piggy.

NOODLE-IN TEXAS STYLY

A couple of years ago Keith's Grandpa showed us how to noodle, it's a blast. NO, it's not like those crazy people who put their hand in a hole and let the fish bite it. I'm brave, but that just doesn't seem like fun. We usually catch an average of 100lbs. a trip. This year the weather has been kinda strange, they are not biting that good on the south end of the lake yet. We went Friday for the first time this year, thought we would have to go to the bank for a loan to fill the boat up.
These are noodle's. Okay, I'll explain a little more. Have you ever seen the noodles in the kid's swimming dept. at wal-mart? They are foam and about 4 ft. long. They are to play with in the pool, well, unless someone in your family noodle's. We cut them in 6" lengths and rig them with a line, sinker and hook. Then you have to wrap them in white duck tape and put your name and address on them. You just throw them out in the lake and let them float. We usually have about 75 to 100 out at a time.

When a fish gets on one it stands up like a mailbox flag. If the fish is very big 20lbs. or bigger, he will take it under, that's when the real fun begins. It may take 30 minutes or more chasing him around and waiting for the noodle to pop back up to finally get it in the boat. We have a long telescoping pole with a hook on the end, you just hook it around the line right under the noodle and pull it in.

Sometime you catch something that you would rather not put in the boat. This gar is small compared to the one we caught last year. It was as big around as a steering wheel, and could hold the noodle under for 30 minutes at a time.
Not bad for a day of fun.

HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY

A baby ask God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "but tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy." God said, "your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the child asked, "and how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?" God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, you angel will teach you how to speak." "And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?" God said, "your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?" God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking it's life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore." God said, "your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, "you will simply call her, MOM."

Parade's,Rodeo's, Bull Riding and Dancing

What a night of intertainment. The Girls get to do lots of social functions to represent their community as Queen's. Yesterday was the Jasper parade and rodeo.

She can sure make cotton candy look good.

JUST 8 SECONDS.....IF THOSE GUYS CAN DO IT SO CAN I

Aspen: Hey Nana, look at those kids riding that bull.
Nana: Do you want to ride.
Aspen: I don't know, I think those kids are at least 6, Maybe I should wait till I'm 6.
Sure looks like fun though. Nana when will I be 6?
Nana: Are you sure you don't want to try?
Aspen: I really think I should wait till I'm 6. THINKING....... Well........ maybe I'll try.

I can do anything my BIG sister can do.

Impatiently waiting for some action

I CAN DANCE

There was a live band at the rodeo. They set up on a portable stage in the arena. Everyone can go down and stand right in front of the stage. The girls practiced their two step, they had quiet a audience.

What a Night

This was Cameron's first rodeo, I have taken Aspen the last two years. I'm sure it will be a annual event from now own. It was way past their bedtime when we headed home(11:00 PM) They had both danced so much they could barely walk. Cameron was asleep before we got out of the parking lot, Aspen was not far behind her.

We had about 30 minutes intermission while we were waiting on the band to get set up. Cameron found her own intertainment

WHAT A WHIRLWIND OF A WEEKEND

This time of the year is busy for me. I have had cakes booked every weekend for the past month, with no end in sight. Friday I had a wedding cake, grooms and birthday cake.

Saturday we had a 4th. annual fish fry for Keiths area at work. After a full day of baking the day before I was ready to let someone else do the cooking.
Sunday my friend Carol and I took the girls to the Zoo in Lufkin. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time.

AT THE END OF A FUN DAY

We stopped at the park on the way home from the Zoo to let the girls play.
